The myth that public schools are failing: what is the source?
This article highlights corporate attempts to privatize public education. Author and Executive Director of YES! Magazine, Dean Paton, provides an interesting perspective on how “politicians have decimated school budgets, replaced teaching with standardized testing, and placed the blame on teachers and students.” Interesting graphics paint a picture of corporate greed and it’s ugly ties to education reform. Is it entirely true, or could it also be part myth that public schools are failing?
