Reporter Ricard Lopez left no buzz-word unsaid in his recent Star Tribune Hot Dish blog post on education funding: unions, vouchers, funding, tax credits, universal preschool and of course, the constitution. He also highlights a new report from The Educator Policy Innovation Center (EPIC), a work group of licensed educators seeking research-based policy solutions to Minnesota’s education problems. The group was founded by Education Minnesota. Education Minnesota President, Denise Specht, is quoted, saying, “The benefits of preschool are so great to the children who receive it and so costly to the children who are denied it…we must consider preschool as part of our infrastructure.”
